Premium CNC & Router Bits for Precision Cutting

1/16″ O-Flute Spiral Bit – 1/4″ Shank (AstraHP Coated)

Single flute, up-cut O Flute router bit is ideal for plastics, polycarbonate, PVC, foam board, aluminum and Corian. The deep flute gash allows for quick removal of chips and if used at the correct speeds and feeds, reduces the chance of chips melting back to the bit. What is a O Flute bit? (Sometimes called a Single Flute bit)

Our “O” flute tools are manufactured from solid carbide tool material in straight and spiral configuration. The upcut, or right hand spiral is most readily utilized because of the need to evacuate chip in an upward direction in flat sheet or block applications. Upward movement of chips avoids welding, which is a common problem in the machining of plastic. With a high rake angle and relatively low helix, O-flute cutters manage to cut acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS, PVC at very high chip loads without raising a burr or fracturing the edges of the surface. All of this while leaving a really clean surface finish. “O” flutes also work incredibly well in wood and aluminum with effortless chip removal!

Owen ★★★★★

I was worried about chipping on fiberglass panels, but this bit left edges surprisingly clean with zero fraying. The AstraHP coating definitely helps it glide through without gumming up.

Nicholas G. ★★★★★

I cut a few acrylic signs with this bit and was impressed by how clean the edges came out—no chipping at all. The AstraHP coating held up nicely through several passes on Corian, and it's still sharp. Solid carbide makes a noticeable difference for small-detail work like this.

Miles A. ★★★★★

The 1/16" tip makes it perfect for tight lettering on acrylic control panels, and the AstraHP coating really keeps the edge crisp through a full run. I only wish the cut length were a bit longer for deeper passes, but for signage work it's spot on.
