The cut on walnut and oak stays glassy clean even after a full afternoon of edge work, and the coating keeps the bit from gumming up mid-run. It's pricey, but for the finish it leaves, I'm not going back to cheaper bits.

The AstraHP coating really sheds pitch so cleanly that I barely have to stop and scrape between passes. I ran it along a long stretch of walnut cabinet trim and the 3/16″ radius came out glass-smooth, exactly the profile I was after.

I’ve been using this bit for a few weeks now, and the coated surface really does help the wood slide smoothly without burning. The rounded edges on my cabinet doors came out crisp and consistent, and it hasn’t needed sharpening yet. Definitely a solid upgrade for any routing work.
