The boring point on this bit makes starting a plunge cut dead-on, no walking or wandering at all. I’ve used it for several dados and mortises, and the 1/2″ shank keeps everything steady even in hard wood. Cuts stay clean with no burning on the edges.

I was a little worried the boring point might wander on start, but it drilled in dead-center and the cut came out glass-smooth. The 1-1/4 inch depth of cut handled my mortising job easily without any burning.
