A great way to join up many multi-side projects such as planters, columns, and barrels. The 3516 can be used for sixteen sided objects. Very straightforward, this joint requires routing a notch in only one edge of each stave (side). Notching also improves ease of assembly and total glue area. All bits are 1/2” shank and designed for use in a router table with a fence guide.

Samuel E. ★★★★★

Cutting birdsmouth notches for a 16-sided planter used to be the part I dreaded, but this bit made it almost boring. The cuts come out clean and consistent, and the pieces actually line up without me fighting them.

Nicholas ★★★★★

The 16-notch geometry is spot-on, and my miter joints on a 16-sided planter came out tight without any gaps. Setup was simple since you're only cutting one notch profile per stave.

Andrew ★★★★★

Cut all sixteen staves for a cedar planter and every joint closed up tight with almost no sanding. The notch geometry is dead accurate right out of the box, which matters when you're gluing up a full ring at once. Setup took me a minute to dial in, but after that it was one pass per piece.
